We are a co-ed competitive running team for both high school students (grades 9-12) and middle school students (grades 6-8) who are educated at home. Our team typically has 1.5 - 2 hour practices three times a week at a track in town in the evenings. Once meets begin, there are usually 3 events (practices, meets) per week. We often travel to meets within a 1.5-hour radius of Bryan/College Station. The team starts practices in late-January, with meets held primarily March thru April. We compete in public school, private school, and homeschool meets.

Track and Field is a sport which combines various athletic contests based on the skills of running, jumping, and throwing. The running events are categorized as sprints, middle-distance, and long-distance events, relays, and hurdling. Regular jumping events include long jump, triple jump, high jump, and pole vault, while the most common throwing events in high school are shot put, discus, & javelin. Events are scored individually and as a team. Individually, athletes challenge each other to decide a single victor, based on who has achieved the fastest time, greatest distance, or greatest height in the contest. Generally the best 6 athletes in each event are awarded points based on their individual placement, and that is how a team score is configured. Team with most points wins.
